Strategy-as-Practice Group

The stragtegy-as-practice group is interested in studying the processes and practices of internal and external communication and collective sense-making through which strategies emerge and are manageged in organizations. Theoretically, the group draws particularly on discourse studies and practice-based approaches to social theory and organization studies.

Currently the research carried out by the group focuses on

  • strategy meetings in third-sector organizations
  • strategic change and sense-making in the media industry
  • investor relations and stakeholder management in the financial markets

In the past, we have also studied

  • strategy tools and organizational knowledge production [more]
  • strategic planning and strategy communication in public organizations [more]
  • implementation of corporate brand strategies in trans-national corporations [more]
